MS-13 gang members indictedUpdated: 06/24/2009 08:47:47 AM PDT
Authorities today made a number of arrests of members of a notorious street gang known as MS-13 during a multi-agency anti-gang operation in Los Angeles. The enforcement operation involved personnel from the FBI, the Angeles Police Department, the U.S. Attorney's office, and U.S. Department of Justice, said Laura Eimiller of the FBI. She said that members of the MS-13 gang have been indicted, including Alex Sanchez, the executive director of Homies Unidos, a non-profit gang violence prevention and intervention organization. Details of the operation were expected to be released at a late-morning news conference in LaFayette Park in the Westlake area, Eimiller said.
